Introduction
English for Sports is designed to develop practical English communication skills for professionals working in sports, fitness, coaching, and sporting organisations. Participants will build the vocabulary and confidence needed to communicate effectively with athletes, coaches, officials, colleagues, sponsors, and international visitors in both training and competition environments.
This five-day course focuses on real workplace situations including coaching instructions, event coordination, sports administration, customer service, presentations, meetings, and written communication. Through practical role-plays, listening activities, and workplace simulations, participants will improve both spoken and written English while applying language directly to their professional responsibilities.
Objectives
2. Use appropriate sports-related vocabulary when coaching, organising events, and communicating with athletes and stakeholders.
3. Write clear and professional emails, reports, schedules, and event documentation related to sports activities.
4. Handle enquiries, presentations, and discussions with international athletes, officials, sponsors, and visitors using professional English.
5. Improve listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills to support effective communication in local and international sports environments.

- Participants are expected to engage in guided self-study, reading, or personal reflection on the day’s content. This contributes toward the CPD accreditation and deepens conceptual understanding.

Please Note:
- All training sessions are conducted from Monday to Friday, following the standard working week observed in the United Kingdom and European Union. Saturday and Sunday are official weekends and are not counted as part of the course duration.
